Review of Glacialis Menta

From super sub-Ω coils to the DNA, there is a faction of the vaping community that thrives on extremes. I don’t say that in any accusatory fashion as I’m as guilty as anyone else with my Duke mod and love of high wattage vaping. Cloud Alchemist Glacialis Menta is a juice of extremes. In the vein of menthol e-liquids, Glacialis Menta is a pure, unadulterated mint and menthol concoction that delivers on its name.

With no real sweet element, the peppermint, the only mint I can identify with 100% certainty, doesn’t have that candy cane or starlight mint flavor. Instead, the flavor of the overall profile is closer to that of an exceptionally high-quality breath mint. I’m also picking up a touch of spearmint in the mix, but it’s difficult for me to be sure exactly what’s underneath the mountain of menthol that is decidedly the focus of this juice.

The juice is exactly what you would expect from a straight, unsweetened menthol with a minty addition. It’s menthol-y with a touch of mint. I personally prefer to taste more of the mint and an ice-cold finish. Beyond that, there’s just not a lot to say about the profile, as is usually the case with these types of flavors.

Throat hit is, as one might expect, entirely dependent on total wattage, but anything over 9.5 packs a relatively potent punch. In the ProVari/510 dripper rig, I preferred to keep this one a bit cooler, around 9.2w or 4.8v on a 2.5 Ω atty, as too much wattage up against strong menthols like this tend to produce a mild bitterness that I’m not terribly fond of. At that wattage, the throat hit is still more than abundant. While vapor production doesn’t reach its maximum potential, I would sacrifice the giant cloud for a crisp, clean flavor anytime.

Out of what I would have to call a lack of disregard , I decided to toss this one into a rebuildable dripper and put it on my Vaporesso Target Mini TC Mod, just to see what this juice would do at 50 watts. Essentially it does what you’d expect it to do. Chilly doesn’t even come close to describing it. Frozen is more like it. I think the popularized term ‘polar vortex’ comes closest to describing the sensation of this juice anywhere above 25 watts. While this was fun for a very brief moment, the extreme wattage amplified the bitter flavor of the menthol.  I don’t think the flavor benefits from the increased temperature anyhow.

This juice is phenomenal. The spearmint and peppermint come through strong and bright, while the vanilla is much more subtle. Those with less discerning palates might lose the vanilla. I found the mint flavor to be the hardest to pick out, but it was indeed there. The flavor is full and juicy, and throat hit is wonderful. (at 12mg, at least) I am currently holding an REO filled with Glacialis Menta in my hand that has the perfect balance of coolness and vanilla goodness.

Finally, Glacialis Menta is the one way up there in the sky that looks kind of “wispy.”  It’s as if they are made up of ice crystals because it’s so cold at that altitude.  Glacialis Menta mimics this with an icy and cool taste. If you enjoy menthols or minty flavors, then this one is for you. Spearmint blended with Glacialis Menta signature menthol make this one a winner. I highly recommend this juice for anyone who enjoys menthol vapes.
